From the dramatic Andean landscape of Nariño in southern Colombia, Juanambú is a beautifully balanced speciality coffee combining rich sweetness with a lively citrus character.

The coffee is sourced by DRWakefield through its relationship with Café Granja La Esperanza, working with coffee producers across the Juanambú area. Nariño’s mountainous terrain and distinctive growing conditions have earned the region an excellent reputation for producing complex, high-quality Colombian coffees.

Juanambú brings together the Castillo, Caturra, Colombia and Tabi varieties, grown at approximately 1,377–1,473 metres above sea level.

Care continues after harvest. Ripe cherries are selected before lower-density fruit is removed through water sorting. The coffee is then pulped, fermented, thoroughly washed and carefully dried, before being kept under controlled storage conditions to help preserve its quality.

The result is a wonderfully versatile cup with notes of caramel and cocoa, layered with soft brown-sugar sweetness and lifted by a juicy touch of orange.

Sweet, rounded and satisfying as espresso, yet with enough clarity and brightness to make a delicious filter coffee, Juanambú is the sort of coffee you’ll happily come back to every day.

Recommended Brew Methods

Espresso ★★★★★
Juanambú’s caramel, cocoa and brown-sugar sweetness make it beautifully suited to espresso. Expect a rounded, sweet shot with orange providing just enough brightness to keep everything balanced.

Flat White / Cappuccino / Latte ★★★★★
Another excellent choice. Cocoa and caramel carry particularly well through milk, while the coffee’s natural sweetness creates a smooth, comforting cup.

AeroPress ★★★★★
A great way to bring together Juanambú’s sweetness and fruit character, producing a clean but satisfyingly full-bodied brew.

V60 / Pour Over ★★★★☆
Try it as a filter to bring the orange character forward and reveal more of the coffee’s acidity and complexity.

Cafetière ★★★★☆
A fuller-bodied brew that should emphasise the cocoa, caramel and brown-sugar side of the cup.

Our pick: Espresso
For a beautifully balanced cup where rich cocoa and caramel sweetness meet a gentle burst of juicy orange.

We always recommend buying whole bean coffee as this is the best for freshness. We are however happy to grind our coffee to your specification if this is how you would prefer it.  Please note, we only supply ground coffee in 227g and 500g bags.

As a small independent roastery, we occasionally adjust prices to reflect rising costs and to continue roasting responsibly. Existing subscriptions are unaffected.
