Colombia - Cundinamarca Viani
Cundinamarca | Washed | 84 SCA
From the mountains of Cundinamarca in central Colombia, Vianí is a beautifully balanced speciality coffee combining rich chocolate and caramel sweetness with a soft, juicy stone-fruit character.
The coffee is sourced by DRWakefield through its long-standing relationship with Racafé, working with smallholder coffee producers around Vianí. At the heart of the supply chain is Sr Joseel Castiblanco, whose local collection centre has worked with Racafé for more than 20 years and provides an important link between the region's coffee-growing families and the wider speciality coffee market.
Today, Vianí is also part of Racafé's CRECER programme, which works directly with coffee-growing communities to support more sustainable and resilient farms. Initiatives have included practical projects such as improved coffee-drying infrastructure and farm composting facilities, while a premium incorporated into Vianí helps contribute towards continued support for the programme.
Vianí brings together the Castillo and Colombia varieties, grown at approximately 1,400–2,000 metres above sea level.
Care continues after harvest. Ripe coffee cherries are picked and typically depulped on the day they're harvested before undergoing fermentation for around 48 hours. The washed coffee is then dried and delivered through the local collection centre before travelling to Racafé's dry mill in Bogotá, where it undergoes further sorting, quality assessment and cupping before export.
The result is a wonderfully approachable cup with notes of chocolate and caramel, layered with a soft stone-fruit sweetness and enough brightness to keep the coffee beautifully balanced.
Smooth and satisfying as espresso, excellent through milk and equally enjoyable across manual brew methods, Vianí is a versatile Colombian coffee with an easy-drinking character and a genuinely meaningful story behind it.

Espresso ★★★★★
Vianí's chocolate and caramel sweetness makes it an excellent espresso. Expect a smooth, rounded shot with the stone-fruit character adding just enough brightness and complexity.
Flat White / Cappuccino / Latte ★★★★★
A superb choice with milk. Chocolate and caramel become richer and rounder, producing a naturally sweet, comforting cup while retaining a gentle fruit character.
AeroPress ★★★★★
A great all-round method for Vianí, bringing together its chocolate depth, caramel sweetness and fruit character in a smooth, balanced brew.
Cafetière ★★★★☆
A fuller-bodied brew that emphasises the chocolate and caramel side of the coffee while retaining its soft fruit sweetness.
V60 / Pour Over ★★★★☆
Brewing as filter brings more of Vianí's fruit character and acidity forward, giving a cleaner cup while preserving its underlying caramel sweetness.

As a small independent roastery, we occasionally adjust prices to reflect rising costs and to continue roasting responsibly. Existing subscriptions are unaffected.
